Your app's ASO score in any market
Paste a store link, pick a market, and see your score, keywords, languages and reviews in about a minute.
One market per app each week is free, and you don't need an account.
What the scan checks
An App Store Optimization score only helps if you can see what moved it. The scan reads your live listing the way the store shows it in the market you pick, then grades three pillars and names the fields holding you back.
- Metadata
- Whether your title, subtitle or short description and description spend their characters on words people search, and whether the listing is written in the language of the market you picked.
- Store presence
- Screenshot count, preview video, icon, release notes and how recently you shipped an update.
- Reputation
- Your rating and how many people gave it, plus a sample of recent reviews split into happy, neutral and critical.
Why it's free
ASOScan is built and run by a senior mobile developer with more than ten years of experience, including work on large apps. Most ASO tools put the score behind a sales call, and a number alone doesn't tell you much anyway. You need to know which fields to change. So the scan is free and needs no signup: paste a link, read the result, and fix the listing yourself if that's all you need.
Free ASO score checker FAQ
- Is the ASO score checker really free?
- Yes. The score, the pillar breakdown, the language check, a sample of recent reviews and search data for your top three keywords need no account and no card. Each app gets one free market a week. To scan more markets or see every keyword, start the 7-day free trial, which also needs no card.
- Does it work for Google Play as well as the App Store?
- Both. Paste either an apps.apple.com or a play.google.com link. The two stores index different fields, so the checks differ. On Google Play the long description is graded as search text, because Google indexes it. On the App Store the description is read for conversion only, because Apple does not search it.
- Why do I pick a country?
- Search volume, difficulty, your rank and the language shoppers see all change by market. The scan reads the listing the way that country's store shows it, and checks whether it is written in that market's language. A French shopper who gets an English listing is a gap the score counts.
- Does the scan check app localization?
- Yes. It checks which of the main store languages your listing is written in, whether the market you picked gets a listing in its own language, and which big markets you have not localized for yet. A listing that is not in the market's language loses metadata points, because people there read your app in a language that is not theirs.
- What is a good ASO score?
- Treat it as a relative measure, not a pass mark. It tells you which of your own fields are underused and in what order to fix them. A listing scoring in the 80s usually has its title, subtitle and screenshots working together. Below 50 there is normally an empty or duplicated field doing nothing.
- Will a higher score make my app rank better?
- Not by itself, and we won't promise it. The score measures how well your listing uses the fields the stores index and how it reads to someone deciding whether to install. Rankings also depend on competition, downloads and retention. What the score does is stop you guessing which field to change first.
- Can I scan a competitor's app?
- Yes, any public listing on either store. Running your app and your two closest competitors through it is the fastest way to see which keywords they target that you don't.
- Do you store the app I scan?
- We cache the result for a few hours so a repeat visit doesn't re-read the store, and we remember which market you scanned for a week so the free scan stays one market per app. We don't publish, share or sell what you scan.
